35 Daniel 11:36 – Daniel 12

As noted in the last section on Daniel, this portion of prophesy leaps forward from the perpetrator of the first abomination of desolation to that of the second, a span of over two thousand years, though verses may overlap. If I had just come upon this blog, I would go back to Daniel 7 and read all of Daniel’s prophecies in order. The first six chapters of Daniel are historical; the last six, prophecy, although Daniel 2 relates ancient history with the statue in Nebuchadnezzar's dream having the head of gold for Babylon, silver torso for Medo-Persia, bronze abdomen and thighs for Greece (Alexander the Great), and iron legs of Rome going down to the yet-to-appear mixed iron and ceramic clay ten toes of his feet (verse 42) which were destroyed by a stone cut out of the mountain without hands. When the feet were destroyed, the whole statue collapsed. The feet, especially the ten toes, are revived Rome, most likely the European Union, presently composed of 27 nations, now that the United Kingdom has left, but I have read there is an inner core of ten nations. The stone cut out without hands (human aid) was Christ who returned to destroy the anti-Christ who reigned throughout the earth. The stone then became a great mountain that filled the whole earth. Most interesting to me are verses 42 “Ands as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 “As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men, but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.” I had always thought this referred to peoples of different races, colors, ethnicity, or languages, but that is not what it says. They will mingle with the seed of men… implies they are something other than the seed of men, i.e, they are not human, or not entirely human- fallen angels, Nephilim (sons of fallen angels and earthly women), extraterrestrials, or beings created by man. Further reading on this includes God’s words to Satan, the snake, in Genesis 3:15 And I (God) will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed (Satan has seed?) and her seed. Also Genesis 6:1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face and the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 that the sons of God (NOTE: Son of God refers to a direct creation of God such as Adam or one of the angels. All men born thereafter through Adam are sons of Adam, not sons of God.) saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful, and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose….4 There were giants on the earth in those days (before the Flood), and also afterward (such as Goliath), when the sons of God came into the daughters of men and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Matthew 24:37 (Christ speaking) “…But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be…” Whoever or whatever these creatures present before the Flood were, they must return during the End Times.

Daniel 11:36 “Then the king shall do according to his own will; he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done.

37 “He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. Some believe the anti-Christ will be homosexual as he shall not regard the desire of women. However, others believe the desire of Jewish women was to be the mother of the Messiah, and he will disregard and blaspheme Christ. In any event, he disregards the Christian God, Jesus, and Allah. Satan has always wanted to be worshipped. Now he gets his chance.

38 “But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things.

39 “Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.

40 ”At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. The king of the South is traditionally Egypt; the king of the North, traditionally, has been Syria, but I strongly suspect it will be Turkey, based on Daniel 8. Anti-Christ will defeat both of them when they attack him in Jerusalem. In fact, he will then invade Egypt per Isaiah 19. The Egyptians will rebel, and the anti-Christ will nuke the Aswan Dam per Ezekiel 29:9 “And the land of Egypt shall become desolated and waste; then they will know that I am the LORD, because he (Pharaoh, ruler of Egypt) said, ”The river is mine, and I have made it. 10 “Indeed, therefore, I am against your rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, from Migdol (in the Nile Delta) to Syene (whose modern name is Aswan, where the huge Aswan Dam is located. Aswan is just above Egypt’s southern border. The dam is 360 feet high and 10,000 feet across. The lake behind it goes up the Nile River 340 miles, a huge quantity of water. The anti-Christ will nuke this dam to show his power. The fish will then be on the shore per verse 5. The Nile will be radioactive all the way to the Mediterranean Sea.) as far as the border of Ethiopia (black Africa, likely the modern nation of Sudan). 11 “Neither foot of man shall pass through it nor foot of beast pass through it, and it shall be uninhabited for forty years.” Egypt will be radioactive for 40 years- uninhabitable for that time.

41”He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. The Glorious Land is Israel, which the anti-Christ will take over by some type of treaty, likely after the surrounding nations, save Egypt, attack Israel and are destroyed per Amos 1 & 2. When this is done, he will subsequently be attacked by Egypt ruled by the king of the South and Turkey ruled by the king of the North, Erdogan at present. The east bank of the Jordan after the Hebrew conquest circa 1406 BC belonged to the half-tribe of Manasseh (Golan), with Gad and Reuben below them. Edom, Moab and Ammon now comprise the nation of Jordan. God will not allow the anti-Christ to take over this area, likely to give the Israelis a place to flee to.

42 “He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

43 “He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. The Libyans refer to the North African Muslims, and the Ethiopians to the black African Muslims, both of whom initially invade Israel with Egypt, but are defeated, awed by the power of the anti-Christ, and change sides.

44 “But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many. The north refers to the Russo-Muslim invasion of Israel as delineated in Ezekiel 38 & 39, while the east refers to the kings of the east, to include at least China, and as kings is plural perhaps India, Japan, Korea, etc, per Revelation 16:12.

45 “And he (the anti-Christ) shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him. The glorious holy mountain is the hill on which sits the newly built Temple. The seas are the Mediterranean and the Dead Seas.

12:1 “At that time Michael shall standup, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble (the Great Tribulation), Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Everyone who is found written in the book.

2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.

3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.

4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

5 Then I Daniel, looked; and there stood two others, one on the riverbank and the other on that riverbank.

6 And one said to the man clothed in linen who was above waters of the river, “How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?”

7 Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished. The period of time, times, and half a time refers to three and a half times, with the underlined times actually meaning two times in the original language. Time refers to a 360 day year, the actual length of the year from creation a little over 6,000 years ago to about 701 BC. We have ancient calendars from all over the world with 360-day years, twelve months of thirty days each, from this time period. Three and a half times 360 equals 1260 days, the period of the Great Tribulation.

8 Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?”

9 And he said, ”Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Daniel is a closed book until the time of the end. However, the elaboration of the 69 weeks in The Coming Prince in 1894 and the explanation of many prophecies in the last 20 to 30 years could well mean that the book of Daniel is now open and we are at “the time of the end,” the end of the 6,000 years and the beginning of Daniel’s final week.

10 “Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. The daily sacrifice is taken away when the abomination of desolation is set up in the soon-to-be newly built Jerusalem Temple, but now we have an extra 30 days at the end, the time required to cleanse the Temple from desecration, after the 1260 days are completed. Per Daniel 9:24, the last event to end the final week of Daniel is the anointing of the Most Holy. Experts say this refers to the cleansing of the Temple which takes 30 days. Most prophecy books say the final week of Daniel is composed of seven years of 360 days per year, or a total of 2,520 days, and that this is divided into two periods of 1260 days. How can this be if it takes 30 days to cleanse the Temple and the anointing of the Most Holy refers to the Temple? The minimal division of this period would begin with 1230 days, then the Great Tribulation of 1260 days, then 30 days to cleanse the Temple.

23 “Blessed is he who waits and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. Now we have an additional 45 days, or 75 days after the Great Tribulation ends, or a total of 1335 days after the Great Tribulation begins. Why again? Christ is fulfilling the Feasts of Israel. Feast 1 was Passover on 14 Nisan in the spring when He was the Passover Lamb. Feast 2 is Unleavened Bread for one week immediately following Passover on Nisan 15 to 21. Leaven is a symbol for sin, but Christ had no sin, so His body did not decay in the grave. The day after the Jewish Sabbath (sunset Friday to sunset Saturday, as Jewish days go sunset to sunset) within the Feast of Unleavened Bread is Firstfruits (always on Saturday sunset to Sunday sunset). Christ was the Firstfruit of the grave. 50 days later is the fourth feast of Weeks (always Saturday sunset to Sunday sunset), the feast when the church was born. Christians worship on Sunday because it is the day of the week when Christ was resurrected and also the day the church was born. Weeks is also know as Second Firstfruits.

Now the three fall feasts remain with possibly Trumpets on 1(-2) Tishri being the rapture or perhaps one of the Trumpet judgments in Revelation 8:2-11:15 or both). In this analogy, the LORD Jesus Christ would come to reign, not rapture, on Feast #6- Yom Kippur, the holiest feast in Judaism on 10 Tishri. 15-21 Tishri begins Tabernacles which will be the feast of the Millennium per Zechariah 14:16, but the world will need a major cleanup before then. Now Christ can just snap His fingers and do this, but I suspect the year will be an object lesson to those remaining on the earth. What is always 74 or 75 days after Yom Kippur? Hanukkah, the eight-day Feast of Lights, and Christ and His church were the L(l)ights of the world. It is also known as the Rededication of the Temple after the first abomination of desolation was removed, and likely it will celebrate the removal of the second abomination of desolation as well. I suspect the final week of Daniel will end on Hanukkah's last or 8th day, although it could be the first day or one before the 8th. If the 8th day, the final week of Daniel would be constructed in this way: Anti-Christ’s confirmation of a treaty with the many to begin the final week of Daniel’s 2520 days per Daniel 9:27. Most experts believe the many to be the people of Israel, but it could be with the nations of the European Union, whose number I believe is 27 now with the United Kingdom gone, but there is an inner core of ten. The Club of Rome has suggested that the world be divided into 10 parts, like the ten toes of Nebuchadnezzar’s statue in Daniel 2. These would be 1. North America (US, Canada, & Mexico), 2. South America and the rest of Central America, 3. Australia and New Zealand, 4. Japan, 5. China, 6. Russia, 7. India and southeast Asia, 8. The Muslim world of the Middle East and North Africa, 9. Black Africa, 10. Europe. All three are possibilities. Perhaps it will be a combination of these three, or some other “many.” Anyway, the final week begins with this treaty. Period #1 is 1,178 days, then the 1260 of the Great Tribulation beginning with the abomination of desolation being put in the Jerusalem Temple and ending with Christ’s return to reign, not rapture, on Yom Kippur, then the 82 days ending on the 8th day of Hanukkah.

I also believe you can further subdivide this period using the 2300 days of Daniel 8:13-14 the giving of the sanctuary (Temple) and the host to be trampled underfoot. Per Revelation 11:2 “But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months (1260 days). In this scenario, the final week would be broken up in this manner, presuming it ends on the 8th day of Hanukkah. Anti-Christ confirms treaty with many. 138 days follow, then the 2300 days begin, when the Israelis have a treaty with the anti-Christ and give him access to Jerusalem and the nation of Israel per Revelation 11:2. Israel would only do this if America was no longer the premier nation on the world stage, and she had suffered severe damage from a Muslim attack, such as is noted in Amos 1 & 2. If the Great Tribulation is 1260 days also, that would be a total of 2,520 days if they occur consecutively, or 220 days too many. Hence, there must be an overlap of 220 days. The anti-Christ will control Jerusalem and Israel for 1040 days (During this time, the kings of the North and South invade Israel per Daniel 11:40,41, and also noted in Ezekiel 30:1- 5, and are defeated by the anti-Christ’s and Israeli forces, followed by Ezekiel 38 & 39, the Russo-Muslim invasion defeated by God, followed by 210 days of Israel burying that army per Ezekiel 30:12,14), but on the 1041st day, he will put up the abomination of desolation, and on the 1261st day of the 2300, he must leave Jerusalem. This is not surprising as Zechariah 12:1-3 indicates that Jerusalem will be taken by their enemies and then the LORD will come, but the Gentiles must control Jerusalem for 1260 days. At the end of the 2300 days, Christ returns to destroy the anti-Christ and his kingdom on Yom Kippur. 82 days later, he is crowned on the 8th and final day of Hanukkah.
