#24 (Part 1) The Age of the Earth
In Revelation 20, Christ’s millennium is noted six times. Why will Christ reign for a millennium? Because His millennium is the Shabbat or Sabbath of a Biblical week with each day a thousand years.
Bishop James Ussher, a 17th century Anglican cleric and Bible scholar, wrote in The Annals of the World, published in 1650, that the earth was created on October 23, 4004 BC. This was Christendom’s standard for over two centuries thereafter. Scientists estimate the age of the earth at somewhere between 4 and 6 billion years old. The Biblical record would indicate a much shorter period of time for the age of the Earth. Indeed, assuming a 6 day creation followed by a day of rest produces the following calculations from the Bible per Genesis 5:

A.C. = after creation
1656 A.C. presumes that they were born precisely on their father's birthday through 10 generations. Some have suggested it would be more accurate to add a half year for each generation to make the totals more statistically accurate. Perhaps. But it seems to me that having each son's birth on his father's birthday is a small thing for the God of the universe.
The middle column above is the translation of the meanings of the names of Adam's line. The sentences they make I find fascinating.
Shem begot Arphaxad 2 years after the flood (Genesis 11:10). I presume from its beginning.
1656 + 222 = 1878 A.C. date of birth of Terah (again presuming each son is born on his father's birthday).
Per Genesis 11:26 Now Terah lived 70 years and begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran. In the Bible, the eldest is usually presented first, or were these triplets with 1948 A.C.(after creation) representing the birth of Abram?
Genesis 11:32 So the days of Terah were 205 years, and Terah died in Haran. (named after son Haran?)
Genesis 12:4 And Abram was 75 years old when he departed Haran.
Acts 7:4 (Stephen's address) Then he (Abraham) came out of the land of the Chaldeans and dwelt in Haran. And from there, when his father was dead, He (God) moved him to this land in which you now dwell.
I take the above to mean that Abram was neither a triplet nor the eldest son, i.e. he was born when Terah was 130 (205 - 75 = 130). However, the history book of Jasher, though believed to be uninspired and twice noted by name in the Bible per Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18, relates Terah was 70 when Abram was born. I believe 130 is the correct number as previously noted.
Numbers have meanings in the Bible. 7 means complete. 6 is the number for man, not quite complete. 8 means a new beginning. The Jews had a numerical system based on 7. After a week of 7 years, the 8th began- the new beginning. There were 8 persons on the ark to begin the earth anew. A baby boy is circumcised on the 8th day. Could it be on the 8th year of the third millennium (birth of Terah in 1878 A.C. + Terah 130 years old when Abram born = 2008 A.C. [after creation]), God started the earth anew through the birth of Abraham?
According to my Bible, Solomon began to reign in 970 B.C. The Herald Citizen circa March-April 2002 ran a blurb stating the last year of Solomon's reign was felt by the scholars to be 931 or 930 B.C. Solomon reigned 40 years, meaning his reign began in 971 or 970 B.C. If 971 began Solomon's reign, then the fourth year would be about 967 B.C.; if 970 B.C., then about 966 B.C.
1 Kings 6:1 And it came to pass in the 480th year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the 4th year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the 2nd month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.
The 4th year of Solomon's reign = 966 B.C.
Date of Exodus, Passover 14 Nisan 1446 B.C.
Then consider Exodus 12:40 in my new King James- Now the sojourn of the children of Israel who lived in Egypt was 430 years. 41 And it came to pass that at the end of 430 years- on that very same day (14 Nisan) - it came to pass that all the armies of God went out from the land of Egypt.
I had originally thought this meant the time the children of Israel had been in Egypt (per Genesis 47:28 And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt 17 years [after entering from Canaan, with 413 years before the Exodus?]. So the length of Jacob's life was 147 years.) However, the ancient history book of Jasher, notes the children of Israel were only in Egypt 210 years. And the Septuagint translation of the Old Testament, the Greek translation completed about 275 B.C. of the Old Testament, has listed the above portion of the Exodus 12:40 underlined as a mistranslation. Egypt in Exodus 12:40 underlined above actually is written as Egypt and the land of Canaan in the Septuagint. If this is so, what is the event that happened 430 years earlier on the 14th of Nisan that would become Passover circa 1446 B.C. in Canaan?
On to Galatians 3:16-17 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed, who is Christ.
17 And this I say, that the law, which was 430 years later cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.
Now Christ was sacrificed almost 1500 years after the law (Ten Commandments), not 430 years before, so what is Paul writing about? This indicates to me that the confirmation noted 430 years earlier can only be Isaac placed on the altar, the Akedah or binding of Isaac, per Genesis 22, when God confirmed His covenant with Abraham. This was done on 14 Nisan on the Hebrew calendar or the date of Passover 430 years later, or per Exodus 12:41 ... on that very same day...
Consider the similarities between the crucifixion and Isaac on the altar in Genesis 22:
1. The site of the crucifixion and the site of Isaac on the altar are supposedly the same location outside Jerusalem. Some say the Temple Mount, but recent evidence points to outside the old city of David, which I believe is outside the walls of the present Jerusalem.
2. Verse 3- Abraham took 2 young men with him as there were two young men on adjacent crosses next to Christ..
3. verse 4- Abraham traveled for 3 days. During those 3 days, Abraham considered his son dead according to the rabbis. Christ was resurrected the third day.
4. verse 6- The wood for the offering was laid on Isaac to carry to the place of sacrifice as Christ also carried His cross of wood.
5. verse 8- When asked by Isaac where the lamb was for a burnt offering, Abraham replied, "God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering." And God did, about 2,000 years later in Christ, though He also provided a ram in place of Isaac. The Lamb would come later.
6. verse 9- Abraham laid Isaac on the wood of the altar, as Christ was laid on the cross and then nailed to it.
7. verse 5- As the LORD had earlier promised Isaac seed or offspring in Genesis 21:12, Abraham expected God to resurrect his son Isaac (Hebrews 11:19), as He did with Christ later. In verse 5, Abraham told his young men that he and Isaac would worship and then both would come back to them.
8. verse 19 - Abraham left the place of sacrifice with his two young men, but nothing is said about Isaac until he meets his bride in Genesis 24:62. Christ remained on the earth after the crucifixion for 40 days, but He has now been gone almost 2,000 years. Soon, He will return for His bride.
9. Isaac, according to Mark Biltz’s 2014 Blood Moons was born on Nisan 14, that later became the month and day of Passover. By Jewish tradition Enoch was born on what would become the Hebrew Feast of Weeks, the fourth Mosaic feast. He was also taken by God without dying on the same day and month of the Weeks centuries later. David, whose kingdom was in the middle of the 6,000 years and who took Jerusalem in 1003 BC, was also born on the Feast of Weeks, the middle of the Mosaic feasts. Seventy years later, he died on the Feast of Weeks by Jewish tradition. Apparently, it was an honor from God to die on the same calendar day that you were born. Isaac was saved from sacrifice or reborn on his birthday.
10. It has been written that the first use of a word is very important in the Bible. Per Genesis 22:2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you. Love is used for the first time here in the Bible in the context of a father offering his son as a sacrifice, a Father offering His Son.
Other verses of interest:
Genesis 15:13 Then He (God) said to Abram: "Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs (NOTE: I presume this refers to Canaan and Egypt. Of course, no land was theirs until God gave them the land of Canaan, and this required the nation of Israel, founded in Exodus.), and will serve them, and they will afflict them for 400 years. And also the nation they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions. Now as for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried at a good old age. But in the 4th generation, they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete."
If they were in Egypt 430 years, it seems strange they returned in the 4th generation to Canaan.
In Genesis 50:23, we are told Joseph saw Ephraim's children to the third generation. Ephraim was born to Joseph as his second child at age circa 31 to 37 per Genesis 41:46, 50-53 (Per Jasher 50:15, Ephraim and Manasseh were twins born to Joseph when he was 34.) He saw Ephraim's children to the third generation, and he died per Genesis 50:26 at the age of 110, 73 to 79 years after Ephraim's birth. Hence, it seems likely to me that the children of Israel were in Egypt considerably less than 430 years. At the end of the first century AD, Josephus wrote they were in Egypt about 215 years. According to the book of Jasher, Israel was in Egypt only 210 years. I presume the 400 years, noted above, is an approximation, like America is 200 years old though actually 244.
Acts 7:6 (Stephen's address) But God spoke in this way that his (Abraham's) descendants would dwell in a foreign land (NOTE: Again I presume this refers to Canaan and Egypt), and they would bring them into bondage and oppress them 430 years. (Leviticus 25: 8-17)
Exodus 1446 B.C.
Isaac on altar 1876 B.C.
Now, if Abram was born 2008 A.C. (after creation) and if Isaac were born when Abraham was 100 per Genesis 21:5, then Isaac was born in 2108 A.C.
To roughly connect A.C. (after creation) and B.C. (before Christ), one only needs to know the age of Isaac on the altar. This has been presumed as old as 37 (per Jasher), 33 (when Christ died on the cross), or 30 (when a priest could begin to minister in the temple), or 25 (per 1st century A.D. historian Josephus). I had expected him to be much younger, but at least 5 (as he carried the wood to the altar), but I have been unable to find Isaac's age when he was placed on the altar. I don't think the age is given.
Consider if Isaac is 37, then creation began at 4020 B.C. (Before Christ)
If Isaac is 33, then creation began at 4016 B.C.
If Isaac is 25, then creation began at 4008 B.C.
If Isaac is 5, then creation began at 3,988 B.C.
I personally believe the date of creation would be between 4020 B.C. and 3988 B.C. It should be noted that a Jewish boy becomes a man at age 13, when he has his bar mitzvah. If this custom dates to Isaac on the altar, the numbers truly become interesting.
However, let us assume that Isaac was 17, not because I believe it, but because it is easier to conceptualize beginning with 4000 B.C.
Assuming Isaac on the altar was 17: Creation 4000 B.C.
Flood 2344 B.C.
God starts over Birth of Abram 1992 B.C.
David takes Jerusalem, becomes king of Israel & Judah 1003 B.C. (approximate middle of 6,000 years)
Birth of Christ 6 to 1 B.C., likely autumn 2 B.C.
Present Time 2020 A.D.
In other words, God has divided the first 6,000 years of history (HIStory is HIS story) into 3 roughly equal portions- creation, Israel, and the church. Each approximates 2000 years or 40 Jubilees. The 50th year was the Jubilee year in Israel's time system.
Each of the three time periods had a miracle near its beginning, and also a sacrifice. In the first period, God created Adam on the 6th day, a miracle birth of sorts, along with Eve taken from Adam's side. Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Abram was born in 2008 AC (After Creation). His birth symbolized a new beginning by being born on the 8th year of the second time period. Isaac was born in 2108 AC to Abram who was a hundred years old and to Sarah, who was ninety and no longer capable of bearing per Genesis 18:11. God told Abraham to name the child Isaac meaning laughter because both Abraham per Genesis 17:17 and Sarah per Genesis 18:12 laughed at the prospect of their being parents at that stage of their lives. But with God nothing is impossible.
The third period began with the virgin birth of Christ, a miracle in itself followed by the miracle of the resurrection circa 32 or 33 AD with all Christ’s miracles in between.
With regard to sacrifices, the world of Creation had no carnivorous animals per Genesis 1:30. The first animal death in that world was the one killed by the LORD to provide Adam and Eve tunics of skin per Genesis 3:21 to clothe them. It seems they were most likely lambs. This was also the first sacrifice to God. In Genesis 1:29-30, God tells us that man and all animals were originally herbivorous or plant eaters. Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned--- I do not believe there were any human or animal deaths in the world of Creation until Adam and Eve sinned. From Hebrews 9:22…without shedding of blood, there is no remission (of sin). Leviticus 11 explains the clean animals that can be eaten, but man was only given the right to eat meat after coming off the ark per Genesis 9:3. But Noah took seven clean animals on the ark per Genesis 7:2. If they couldn’t be eaten, then why were they clean? Answer: Because they could be sacrificed to God. This went back to the animals slain by God to clothe Adam and Eve. It also puts an entirely new light on Cain and Abel. In Genesis 4:2 …Now Abel was a keeper of sheep and, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. Verse 3 And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD. 4 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering (Per the book of Jasher, fire came down from heaven for Abel’s offering, but not Cain’s), 5 but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
I always considered God a bit unfair. After all, Abel offered what he produced and Cain what he produced. Why would God accept one, but not the other? Answer: God established His rules with the first sacrifice. He required the shedding of blood. Cain ignored His rules. Jasher also notes that Cain, Adam’s eldest son, ate of Abel’s flock, so he also disregarded God’s directive in Genesis 1:29- 30 about being a vegetarian. Abel raised his sheep for their wool, their milk and cheese, and for sacrifice apparently.
The second time period 's sacrifice was the ram rather than Isaac per Genesis 22:13. And, of course, Christ was the sacrifice by crucifixion of the third time period. He was scourged or whipped because the blood had to be removed from the sacrifice per Exodus 12:7.
It is interesting to note that Christ’s birth was heralded by a star per Matthew 2:2. Likely His birth and the sign of it had been given to Daniel centuries before. This was passed down to the Magi from about six centuries or so earlier. The book of Jasher, verse 8:12 notes that the birth of Abraham was also heralded by a star. Adam and Eve were created on the sixth day, but the stars, planets, and such were created on the fourth day, another foreshadowing.
Now add 2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the LORD one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. New Testament
This is confirmed in Psalm 90:4 For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it is past, and like a watch in the night. Old Testament
I have been told these verses mean a large period of time is nothing to the LORD even to millions or billions of years. Perhaps? But what if the LORD means what He says, and He is talking about a week. What if these days make up a week of seven days with each day approximately a thousand years? And the Sabbath of that week is Christ's reign of 1000 years. This is what the Hebrews concluded almost 3500 years ago from Psalm 90:4 alone, but we have the other verses as noted.
Revelation 20:4 And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. In Revelation 20, Christ’s millennium of a thousand years is referred to 6 times.
Now on to Hebrews 3:7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says
Today, if you will hear His voice
8 Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
In the day of trial in the wilderness,
9 Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me,
And saw My works 40 years.
10 Therefore I was angry with that generation,
And said, "They always go astray in their heart,
And they have not known My ways
11 So I swore in My wrath,
"They shall not enter My rest."
Hebrews 3:12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God, 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, 15 while it is said:
"Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion."
16 For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
4:1 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them, but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. 3 For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said:
"So I swore in My wrath,
They shall not enter My rest,"
although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For He has spoken in a certain place of the 7th day in this way: "And God rested on the 7th day from all His works"; 5 and again in this place: "They shall not enter My rest." (NOTE: Is the 7th day and My rest both a reference to Christ's millennial reign? I believe it is!)
6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, 7 again He designates a certain day, saying in David, "Today," after such a long time, as it has been said:
"Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts."
4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remains a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. 11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
Does the above mean that God has broken history into 3 parts? After all, the LORD does like the number 3.
1. 6,000 years
2. 7 years - the final week of Daniel (9:27) = 7 Biblical years (360 days per year)
3. 1,000 years -Christ's millennium (Revelation 20) God's rest, His Sabbath for His people
Is there any other evidence to confirm the above projections? Try Matthew's parable of the ten virgins in the 25th chapter. When did the cry arise that the bridegroom was coming? Per verse 25:6 - at midnight. Also remember that per Psalm 90:4 A thousand years are like yesterday to the LORD, yea like a watch in the night. Per Matthew 14:25 Jesus walked on the Sea of Galilee during the 4th watch with a note in my Bible that this was between 3 and 6 A.M. Midnight would be the end of the second watch and the beginning of the third, or comparably the end of the second thousand years and the beginning of the third after His birth, our present times, though some believe after His resurrection.
Per Luke 13:32 And He (Jesus) said to them, "Go, tell that fox (Herod), 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.'" I had always understood this to refer to His resurrection. Does it have a double meaning? Does it also refer to the beginning of the third millennium after His birth as His millennial reign? I favor His birth as the starting point, but perhaps after His crucifixion?
Genesis 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die. Genesis 5:5 So all the days that Adam lived were 930 years; and he died.
He died in less than a thousand years, or a day to the LORD per 2 Peter 3:8 and Psalm 90:4.
Hebrews 1:1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, Has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
In these last days refers to the last 2,000 year period of the church, in my opinion.
Matthew 17:1 Now after six days (1000 years each) Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;
2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
3 And behold , Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
After about 6,000 years of Earth's history, Christ will appear to rapture His church. Then two witnesses will appear per Revelation 11. One is Elijah from Malachi 4:5. Per Revelation 11:6, one does the miracles of Moses. The other candidate for the second witness is Enoch, For many years, I believed he was the second witness. After all, he never died. Per Genesis 5:24 … God took him. Hebrews 9:27 And it is appointed for men to die once and then the judgement. However, Enoch was the model for the rapture though he was taken almost seven hundred years before it occurred. Remember men often lived to be 900 plus, with the oldest being Methuselah at 969 years per Genesis 5:27. Enoch was taken out before the Flood. Noah and his seven passengers went through the Flood. Everyone else perished. Remember the body of Christ is one, and they will be removed before the wrath of God, the Great Tribulation. Hence, there will be millions, perhaps in the ten millions, or even more, who never die. I prefer Moses as the second witness with Moses the law and Elijah the prophets. Per Matthew 17:11 Jesus answered and said to them, “Indeed Elijah is coming first and will restore all things.” Restore all things? Elijah is coming to die after 1260 days. What is he going to restore? Answer: all Israel per Ezekiel 37:16-22. Elijah, with Moses, is not only going to bring all the Jews back to the land of Israel, but also all the lost tribes that the Assyrians carried away in 732 and 722 BC. They were not lost to God.
By my calculations, the Exodus was about 1446 B.C. Nearly a millennium later, Nehemiah was given the order to rebuild the city of Jerusalem in 445 B.C. though the Jews had returned to Judah almost a hundred years earlier. It's hard to be a nation without a capital with walls and gates, however.
It is interesting to compare dates on the two wisest men who ever lived, Christ (the Wisest) and Solomon (# 2).
970 B.C. assumed throne 28 - 29 A.D. began ministry
966 B.C. began temple 32 or 33 A.D. Holy Spirit given to church, Christ's temple
930 B.C. died 70 A.D. Jerusalem destroyed
The significant events in Solomon's and Christ's lives are separated by about a thousand years, though not precisely.
It may even work in secular history. Charlemagne was crowned by the Pope as the Holy Roman Emperor of France in 800 A.D. This act cemented France as a Christian nation. After the atheistic French Revolution began in 1789, Napoleon was crowned Emperor of France with the Pope present in 1803 A.D. Purposefully, Napoleon crowned himself. He would not allow the Pope to crown him for what he felt he had gained by his own endeavor rather than the providence of God. Again about a thousand years.
Then Hosea 6:1
Come, and let us return to the LORD;
For He has torn, but He will heal us;
He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will raise us up,
That we may live in His sight.
The city of Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 A.D., and the Jews were dispersed in the Diaspora to the four winds. For almost 1900 years, they had no national status until midnight May 14- 15 of 1948 when Israel was reborn (Isaiah 66:8). One could also view the Jews as being vassals to Rome since the time of Pompey's conquest of the city in 63 B.C. or just over 2000 years, or 2 days, by my analogy, until they regained their nation though they did throw out the Romans for a few years before Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 A.D. Christ's millennium likely covers most of the end of the third day or thousand years. Hosea 6:1 seems to fit well for Judah, but Hosea was a prophet to the northern kingdom of Israel, hence, a double prophecy.
The so-called ten lost tribes, the northern tribes that separated from Judah, were carried off to Assyria in 722 B.C. I am not aware of any event that occurred 2,000 years later, around 1278 A.D., of consequence, though there may be one. But Israel was apostate from the start when it broke with Judah in 931 or 930 B.C. Israel, unlike Judah, never had a king who worshiped God with the possible exception of Jehu, 2 Kings 9 & 10, whom Jonathan Cahn likened to President Trump in his 2017 book, The Paradigm. About a thousand years later, the Jewish temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. the second day would end around 1070 or 1071 A.D. One of the sentinel dates of history is 1066 A.D., the last successful invasion of England by the Normans, the North men, of Viking origin, who had settled in northwestern France. Could this be the beginning of the third day for Israel? Was God now raising up another nation to carry His banner? Were they an "almost chosen people" per the English author, Paul Johnson? And from them, did America come as an "almost chosen nation?" Or could the Anglo-Saxons be the actual lost tribes of Joseph (Ephraim and Manasseh) to whom Jacob gave God's blessings? Great Britain would be Ephraim and America, Manasseh. I wonder if all of history is not a giant code of events separated by about a millennium, or in this case, two.
Regarding the sons of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh, Jacob prophesied in Genesis 48:19-20 that Ephraim would be “a multitude of nations” as the British Empire to be followed by Manasseh, another great nation- the USA. Also remember that in verse 14 of Genesis 48, Jacob crossed his arms, indicating to me that this would occur as Christian nations. Remember that Abraham was given the head of his house, i.e. the kingship, the priesthood of his house, and also the blessing of prosperity, the birthright. These blessings went to Isaac and then Jacob, but Jacob divided them, giving Judah the kingship (Genesis 49:8- 12), Levi the priesthood (Genesis 49:5- 7 [The priests were dispersed throughout Israel -verse 7, and Deuteronomy 33:8- 11)], but the blessing of prosperity, the birthright (Genesis 49:22-26, Deuteronomy 33:13 -17, and 1 Chronicles 5:2) went to Joseph’s sons, Ephraim and Manasseh. What would the blessing of God be? Have there ever been nations more blessed for the average person than those of the British Empire and America? This is especially true, since Jacob crossed his arms. They would have to come forth in the two Christian millennia.
Psalm 118 is very interesting. J.R. Church wrote it was the middle chapter of the entire Bible. It has the middle verse of the Bible- the eighth verse: It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is located between the shortest chapter (Psalm 117) and the longest (Psalm 119). Matthew 26:30 and Mark 14:26 both note that after Christ and His disciples sang a hymn (psalm) at the Last Supper, they went to the mount of Olives where He was taken. It is interesting to note that Psalm 113 to 118 are sung by the Jews at the Feast of Passover. Likely, the psalm they sang before they went out was 118.

25 Save now, I pray, O LORD;

On Palm Sunday, the crowds loudly echoed the above last verse as Christ entered Jerusalem. And, of course, they must cite this again before He returns to save Israel, destroy His enemies, and begin His millennium per Matthew 23:39. But before Armageddon, He will go to Petra (Bozrah) to save the remnant per Isaiah 63:1- 6 where His garment is dipped in blood for Revelation 19:13.
The stone that the builders rejected that became the chief cornerstone was, of course, Christ in verse 22.
I have heard verse 24: This is the day the LORD has made
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
as referring to any day, and, of course, we should rejoice in each and every day the LORD gives us. But I have read that the Jews believe it refers to the day the Messiah comes, which, of course, was true when He rode the donkey’s colt into Jerusalem. Day also refers to His millennium, the seventh- another double prophecy!
If I were a disciple with Christ at that time, these verses could make me believe He was about to declare His kingdom, but verse 27… bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar notes a far different outcome.
In the 1980s, the late JR Church wrote an interesting book called Hidden Prophecies in the Psalms. It was his contention that the Psalms represented years of the 20th and 21st centuries. In other words, Psalm 1 would be 1901; Psalm 2, 1902; Psalm 100, 2000; Psalm 120, 2020 and so forth. He believed each year was represented in some way by the corresponding Psalm, especially with reference to Israel, and I suspect Great Britain and America as well. I thought this nonsense till I read his book. He particularly noted 17, when the British took Jerusalem; 41 to 44, the Jews in the Nazi death camps; 48, the rebirth of Israel; 67, the Six-Day War; 73, the Yom Kippur War. JR Church did note that sometimes the Psalms were off by a year or two. Church also noted he was unsure why it began with 1901 as opposed to 1801 or 1701, but a viewer of his Prophecy in the News television program called in to say that the Psalms are the 19th book in the Bible, which they are.
If England is Ephraim, then Psalm 40 would fit the miracle evacuation of Dunkirk. If America is the lost tribe of Manasseh, one could add Psalm 80, specifically to Ephraim, Manasseh, and Benjamin (?) with the election of Ronald Reagan in 1980 (Maggie Thatcher, the Iron Lady, was prime minister of the United Kingdom before Reagan took office), and Psalm 91 with the First Gulf War as 91 was the favorite psalm of the Desert Stormers, the American armed forces in Iraq, in 1991, according to the New York Times.
I believe the LORD will rapture His church on a Hebrew feast. God gave Moses 7 feasts or “appointed times.” On the first, Nisan 14 in the spring, Christ was the Passover Lamb. The next day began the one-week feast of Unleavened Bread, Nisan 15 to 21. Christ had no sin. His body did not decay in the grave per Psalm 16:10. The day after the weekly Jewish Sabbath (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset) within the Feast of Unleavened Bread is Firstfruits (Leviticus 23:6- 14, especially 11), and Christ was the Firstfruit of the grave on this third feast. The fourth feast, always on Sunday 50 days later, was called Weeks or Shavuot. In Christianity, it is called Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was given to the church. In other words, Christ has fulfilled the first four feasts of Moses. It seems very likely He will fulfill the last three, with the first being Trumpets, usually in September in the fall or 1 Tishri, the seventh Jewish month on the Hebrew calendar. This is a prime candidate for the rapture of the church, but which year? Is it 2020, or another year? It is curious to note that psalm 120 to 134 are psalms of ascent (to Jerusalem? to the temple? to heaven?) Evangelist Perry Stone once said he thought Christ would come 2,000 years after His crucifixion, which I believe would be in 2032 or 2033. I believe it will be sooner, but keep in mind that Pastor Stone's connections with heaven far excel my own. This year of 2020, the next feast, Trumpets, begins in Jerusalem at sunset on 18 September, but it would go an extra day if the sky were overcast, and the only crescent moon of the seven feasts could not be sighted. The Mosaic feasts require full moons with the exception of Trumpets when only a crescent moon, the symbol of Islam, is seen. If the church were raptured on Trumpets, Islamics could perceive that Allah had gotten rid of their worst enemies and be encouraged to attack Israel and other so-called Christian nations, now devoid of true Christians. This could usher in Islam’s utter destruction, beginning with Shia Islam attacking Israel from all contiguous nations save the nation of Egypt in Amos 1 & 2 and ending about two years later (Amos 1:1) with the Russo-Muslim invasion of Ezekiel 38 & 39, the prelude to the reign of the anti-Christ. If the rapture occurred this year on Trumpets (18 September at sunset in Jerusalem to 19 September at sunset) with the presidential election in early November, I believe President Trump and Vice-President Pence would both be raptured, leaving the presidency, at least temporarily, to the Speaker of the House.
To me, another good possibility for the rapture of the church would be the seventh day of the Feast of Tabernacles on 21 Tishri, which would be even closer to the presidential election, this year at sunset in Jerusalem from 8 October to sunset on 9 October. Tabernacles is the seventh and final Mosaic feast for the Jewish year. It is a harvest festival per Leviticus 23:34- 36 that lasts seven days and the first day is a High Sabbath, a Sabbath regardless of the day of the week. The day after the feast ends, or 22 Tishri, is also a High Sabbath. It seems to me it should be an eight-day feast.
Numbers 29:12-38 notes that on the first day of Tabernacles, thirteen bulls are sacrificed, and each day thereafter, one less is sacrificed till the seventh day when seven are sacrificed. On the day after the feast ends, one bull is sacrificed. I suspect the total of seventy sacrificed in the Feast of Tabernacles are for the nations, the seventy founded after the Flood. The one bull sacrificed on the High Sabbath after Tabernacles is for the nation of Israel.
Per Leviticus 23:42- 43, the Israelites were told to dwell in temporary shelters or booths during the seven days of the feast. On the seventh day, they would leave these shelters for their permanent abodes. Is that when the Christians leave their temporary human bodies for their permanent heavenly bodies, and Israel is left alone?
Chuck Missler, a great Christian scholar who died in 2018, used to think that Weeks was a good possibility as well. It is always fifty days after Firstfruits with Firstfruits being day one of the fifty. Hence, it would always be on Saturday at sunset to Sunday at sunset, most likely in Jerusalem. This year of 2020, Firstfruits begins on Saturday 11 April at sunset in Jerusalem to Sunday 12 April at sunset. This would put Weeks on 30 May at sunset on Saturday to 31 May at sunset on Sunday in Jerusalem. Keep in mind that the Jews apparently changed the date of Weeks in the first century AD. Instead of the day after the regular Jewish Sabbath or Shabbat (Friday at sunset to Saturday at sunset), they dated it to the day after the first High Sabbath or day one of Unleavened Bread. I suspect this was to deny Chris being in the tomb three days and three nights. My readings, noted above, always place it on Saturday at sunset to Sunday at sunset Jerusalem time per Leviticus 23:15-16 within the Feast of Weeks.
However, it should be recalled that the church is not noted in the Old Testament. Hence, perhaps, the rapture would occur on an extra Levitical feast, such as Hanukkah, an 8-day feast beginning this year at sunset on 10 December in Jerusalem and ending at sunset on 18 December. Hanukkah is the Feast of Lights. Christ was the Light of the world when He was in it, His church when He left. It is also the Rededication of the Temple. In the Corinthians, we are told we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The feast is noted in John 10:22. Purim is Esther’s Feast, the salvation of God’s people, a month before Passover beginning in Jerusalem in 2020 on 9 March at sunset for one day, but, curiously, an additional day in Jerusalem.
I believe the LORD will return to reign, not rapture, on the sixth feast of Yom Kippur on 10 Tishri in the fall, but which year? Per Daniel 12:11 “And from the time the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be 1290 days 12 Blessed is he who waits and comes to the 1335 days.” The Great Tribulation is only 1260 days. Why the extra 30? And then another 45 for a total of 75 extra days? Hanukkah, the non-Mosaic Feast of Lights, the Rededication of the Temple, is always 74 or 75 days after Yom Kippur on 10 Tishri. I believe the LORD will return to destroy His enemies at Armageddon on Yom Kippur, but He will be crowned during the eight-day Feast of Hanukkah, likely on the last day.
Zechariah 14:16 relates that all the nations will come to Jerusalem to worship the King during His millennium on the seventh feast, the Feast of Tabernacles.
I do not know the year of the LORD’s coming, but I do believe it is near, and it will be on a Hebrew feast!
Even the parable of the Good Samaritan suggests His return at about 2,000 years, I suspect after His birth, but, perhaps, His resurrection. In 732 BC, all the northern tribes of the northern kingdom of Israel, plus the two and a half tribes east of the Jordan River, were conquered and deported by the Assyrians. In 722 BC, the remaining tribe of Ephraim and the adjacent half-tribe of Manasseh were conquered by the Assyrians and also deported. Their capital, Samaria, was also destroyed. Then, their conquerors brought in other peoples who intermarried with the Israelites left behind. When the Jews returned from Babylon, intermarriage with the surrounding nations was also noted in Ezra 9 & 10 and Nehemiah 13:23-28. The Jews were told to separate from these other peoples, their spouses and their children. Many of these part Jewish people went to Samaria and built their own temple to God. Nevertheless, they were despised by the Jews of Jesus’ era. As the woman at the well in John 4:5-43 (Christ proclaimed Himself to be the Messiah in verse 26) noted in at the end of verse 9 “…For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.”
Luke 10:29 But he (the lawyer seeking eternal life, who had been told one must also love his neighbor as himself), wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 “Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 “Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place and looked; and passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.
34 “So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 “On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’
36 “So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”
37 And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “God and do likewise.”
A simple story about a man, from an ethnic group despised by the Jews, though likely having some Israelite or Jewish ancestry, showing mercy and going way out of his way to take care of someone he did not know whereas the Levite and priest did not. Granted the priests officiated in the Temple for two weeks yearly and also during the Feasts or “appointed times” of Israel and if they touched a dead body, they were considered unclean for a week per Numbers 19:11, 12. Perhaps, they were on their way to perform their duties in Jerusalem and thought he was dead. The road from Jerusalem, a holy city to God, went down to Jericho, a very worldly city. The road was infested with thieves, hence a parable for the times.
However, I read somewhere there is a much deeper story. You will note in the story, there is a certain man, a certain priest, a certain Samaritan, but the Levite is not designated certain. The certain man was Adam who went down from Eden (Jerusalem) to the world (Jericho). He was accosted by Satan (thieves) who stripped him of his clothing and left him half dead, as he could no longer commune with God as before. The certain priest was Moses, who gave Israel the Ten Commandments, but could not restore the man. The Levite represented all the Levites whose innumerable sacrifices could also not restore him. The certain Samaritan was Christ. Though fully man and fully God, He was nevertheless, believed by many to be the illegitimate child of Mary, half-Jew and half-whatever- Roman? The good Samaritan poured oil representing the Holy Spirit and wine, representing the blood of Christ, into his wounds. He then put him on his animal, which we presume was a donkey. The word donkey was not used because the animal represented the animal sacrifices which Israel used to restore themselves to God. The animal got the wounded man to the inn, which represented the church, and the innkeeper, the preacher, who was told to care for him, till He returned. Then, the good Samaritan gave him two denarii. In Christ’s parable of the vineyard in Matthew 20:1- 16, a denarius was a day’s wages. Likewise, I have read that per Revelation 6:6 that “a quart of wheat for a denarius”, which would bake up to a loaf of bread, was the average daily amount of food required for one man, but left nothing for his family. Christ said in Psalm 90:4 and 2 Peter 3:8 that a thousand years was like a day to the LORD, implying He would return in 2,000 years, when the two days' wages were up.
Now on to the 6 days of creation with each day corresponding to a millennium. From the Holy Scriptures:
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3. Then God said "Let there be light;" and there was light. 4. And God saw the light, that it was good; And God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
Let us assume that this is the first "day" of creation, analogous to the first thousand years. God created everything, and saw that the light was good, i.e. He blessed it. Light represented good, and darkness evil. The only evil was to disobey God's single command to not eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Then Eve and Adam ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Man chose darkness rather than light, evil rather than good, and man became worse and worse over time. Remember in the original creation, there were no carnivorous creatures (everything ate plants per Genesis 1:30, though in Jasher 10:10, Abel notes that his brother, Adam’s first born son, Cain, was eating the flesh of his flock, though man was not given the right to eat meat till Genesis 9:2,3 when Noah came off the ark.), and this could have been true till the Flood, though carnivorous animals may have come more quickly, perhaps after Adam's fall. Thus, man did not fear the animals till after Adam's fall or after the Flood, but after the Fall, men certainly feared other men. And Adam died in this first millennium at the age of 930, not quite a day to the LORD per 2 Peter 3:8.
6. Then God said, "Let there be a firmament (sky) in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." Then God made the firmament (sky), and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
As subsequently birds are noted to fly in the firmament, firmament refers to sky or heaven. I had always thought firmament meant land, but there was no land on day 2.
God did not note anything good for this day, i.e. there was no blessing. If this represents the 2nd thousand-year period, what were the significant events?
1. The judgment of God on man whose content of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually (Gen 6:6) when God grieved in His heart over making man. That judgment was the Flood, remaking creation's 2nd day, i.e. no land, just sea and sky. It also removed most of the Nephilim (Genesis 6:1-4), the product of fallen angels mating with earth women, the giants such as Goliath. The worst of the fallen angels were chained at the Euphrates per Revelation 9:14.
2. Toward the end of the second millennium, another judgment on man for building the Tower of Babel in order to invade heaven per Jasher. How absurd!. In other words, a hundred years or so after the Flood destroyed the entire world of creation, man again rebelled against the Creator. Peleg means divided. He was born 101 years after the Flood per Genesis 11:10-16. In his days, the earth was divided per Genesis 10:25. Probably, this refers to the division of people through various languages, i.e. the judgment of God at the Tower of Babel, but perhaps also the separation of the continents.
In the vision of Daniel, chapter 7, the beasts arose from the waters (the Gentile nations). On creation day 2, God separated the waters from the waters, with the waters being the Gentile nations. This means He divided men into 70 nations at the end of the second millennium, analogous to creation's second day, after the Flood.
9. Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear;" and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
Reading commentaries on chapter 7 of Daniel's dream, the point was made to me that the seas, from which the beasts arose represented the Gentile nations whereas the land represented Israel. If Abraham was born about 2008 A.C. (after creation), the seas (Gentile nations) had been gathered together to expose the land- God's righteous man, Abraham, who would give birth in time to God's people: the Israelites with the Jews being mostly from Judah, the royal tribe. Certainly, God would think this good and bless Abraham per Genesis 12:3 "... And in you (Abraham) all the families of the earth shall be blessed." I believe this came about because the Jews gave the world the written Ten Commandments and the Old Testament, but also because the Anglo-Saxons are the lost tribes of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh, who had the blessings of God delivered to them in abundance at the end of the sixth millennium. Britain and America sent missionaries to the ends of the earth. They thwarted the ambitions of the godless, first the French Revolutionaries and Napoleon, then the evolutionary Germans and Nazis, and finally the Soviets. At the same time, they pushed the boundaries of science and gave numerous inventions to the world’s peoples that made life easier and also they were better fed.
But day 3 is not yet finished.
11. Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth;" and it was so.
12. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the third day.
2 Kings 19:26 (God through Isaiah replying to Sennacherib, King of Assyria, the superpower of the time, referring to his conquests)
Therefore their inhabitants (that Assyria destroyed) had little power;
They were dismayed and confounded;
They were as the grass of the field
And the green herb,
As the grass on the housetops
And grain blighted before it is grown.
1 Peter 1:24 and Isaiah 40:6-8.
And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers
And its flower falls away
All flesh is as grass
But the word of the LORD endures forever.
So the Scriptures teach man is as grass, yielding seed according to its kinds. Does it also mean the good yielding good and the bad yielding bad?
Jewish days begin at sunset from "And evening and (then) morning were the ______ day." Hence, from sunset Monday to sunset Tuesday is considered the third day of creation in Judaism. It is the day most Jewish couples wish to get married because traditionally it is the day of the double blessing. Twice on the third day, God saw that it was good.
Now how could the third thousand years be construed a double blessing, assuming the first blessing was Abraham, the father of the nation of Israel? Perhaps from Deuteronomy 34:10 But since then there has not arisen in Israel a prophet like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, in all the signs and wonders which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt before Pharaoh, before all his servants, and in all the land, and by all the mighty power and all the great terror which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.
Moses through the power of God molded the slaves of Egypt into the nation of Israel ready to take the land of milk and honey. Certainly, Moses was a blessing to Israel and through him, God gave the Ten Commandments and the Torah, the first five books of the Bible, in this "third day" or third thousand-year period. Like the plants for the animals, these were for our nourishment or food.
Note the first 3 days, or first triad of creation:
1. Light and darkness (space)
2. Sky/ water
3. Land and plants
In the second triad, He fills what He has created, i.e. their habitations:
4. Sun, moon, stars - as light producers
5. Birds and fish
6. Animals and man - New Geneva Study Bible, 1995, Christian Statesman Edition
Now on to the second triad.
Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs (the zodiac [God’s sky picture of the Messiah to come beginning with Virgo, the virgin, and ending with the Lion of Judah per Psalm 19:1- 4], eclipses, etc.) and seasons (Seasons can also be translated as the appointed times, referring to the Feasts of the LORD, translated as the appointed times), and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth;" and it was so. the God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
Now what could represent the lights for the fourth millennium of creation? David was born about 1040 B.C., and he became king of Judah about 1010 B.C. and king of all Israel circa 1003 B.C., the same year he took Jerusalem. His reign lasted till Solomon assumed the throne in about 970 B.C. for an additional 40 years when Israel was at its height. I suspect the moon, the reflected light of the sun (Son), was David and/ or his kingdom, beginning this millennium. The sun, of course, was Christ with His birth being the other bookend for this thousand-year span. I suspect the stars represented the Israelites, through whom would come the Jews from Judah and the Anglo-Saxon nations as the sons of Joseph, who had the blessing of God which came forth at the end of the 6th millennium.
20. Then God said, "Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens." So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
Though the pagan Roman Empire legalized Christianity in the early 4th century, they fell within a hundred years or so. Pagan Rome was certainly a great sea creature as were Islam and the Vikings? And the birds represent? In Matthew 13:3, Christ gives the parable of the sower with the birds noted in verse 4. In verse 19, He notes "then the wicked one (birds) comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart" -the seed. The birds, at least in this parable, represent Satan's agents. Perhaps this refers to Satan and his agents running roughshod over the earth as he has done since the fall, but particularly in this millennium.
During this fifth day, the fish, an early symbol for Christianity, are also multiplying. Christendom was not so important on the world stage as Rome was declining though Byzantium lasted till 1453 A.D. There were few other Christian states other than France, the Germanic and the Papal states, and the British Isles. Christendom had a very uncertain future in the year 1000 A.D. being assaulted from the southeast by the Turks, the southwest by the Moors, who had conquered most of Spain, and the north by the Vikings.
24. Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind;" and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind:" and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Does this refer to the rise of the great Christian nations of Europe from about 1000 A.D. onward- the success of Western (Christian) Civilization from the beasts out of the land (Israel)- Spain, Portugal, France, Holland, Austria, among others? Remember a Jewish day began at sunset, and Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492.
Towards the end of the lighted day, i.e. the last quarter of the entire 24 hour day- Genesis 1:26. Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
Genesis 1:27. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
Do these last two verses refer to Great Britain, her colonies, and America rising as the premier nations of the world at the end of the sixth day, i.e., the sixth millennium? Or was America with her self-rule under Christianity, the representation of man among the beasts, i.e. nations? I prefer the latter possibility, though Jacob said Ephraim would be greater. The British Empire was certainly glorious and at one time ruled a quarter of the Earth's land surface, the largest empire in land surface area of all time. Remember the sun never set on the British Empire. Great Britain appears to me to be an extension of the other great European nations. But America under the Christian God was entirely different. There was no king. "No King but King Jesus" was one of the rallying cries of the American Revolution. America seems to me to better represent man in this analogy. America under Christianity had limited government and boundless opportunity for the individual but always under the laws of God. Under this formula, I believe America became the greatest nation ever- what God had intended for all nations before the Fall, a constitutional republic with her laws based on the laws of the Judeo-Christian God rather than the present socialist democracy with laws based on evolution, and for her god the greenback dollar. Unfortunately for America, socialism has never worked anywhere it has been tried, and as John Adams said "There never was a democracy that did not die by suicide." As soon as the citizens of a democracy realized they controlled the treasury of the democracy, they voted themselves so many benefits that they destroyed the financial stability of their country which inevitably brought forth a tyrant. Have you considered our astronomical national debt of late? A Jan, 2020 NewsMax magazine noted a national debt of $23 trillion with a GDP of $21.5 trillion. Democracy was considered a bad word in America till the presidency of Woodrow Wilson, who also gave us direct election of Senators diluting the power of the states, the income tax, and the Federal Reserve, which is neither federal, nor a reserve. Instead it is a collection of private banks who are paid to print our currency. Since our currency has lost over 94% of its value since the Federal Reserve was founded in 1913, I believe it has done a lousy job. The pulpits of America had always had the right to warn their people about any political candidate, but they were muzzled in 1954 by Senator Lyndon Baines Johnson, head of the Senate, who passed a law that if a preacher involved himself in an election, then the tax exemption for his church could be removed, i.e. the donations to his church would not be tax exempt for the individual giver. LBJ was incensed about a preacher telling people to vote against him in a Texas election. This had been going on since the Constitution was written, but the IRS did not collect income taxes till the 20th century.
Unfortunately, when God had poured out His great prosperity upon us at the end of the Second World War, we beat our chests and proclaimed ourselves masters of the universe, captains of our own ships, diviners of our destiny, just like Solomon and the British Empire, rather than honoring the great Creator God for His benevolence and safekeeping. God and Christ made America great!
A university professor in Scotland in the late 1700s, noted that empires had life cycles, usually lasting about 200 years: The people begin in bondage. They acquire great religious faith, which leads to courage and on to freedom. This gives them abundance, and they sink into complacency. From there to apathy, and on to dependency, and back to bondage. America is now about 245 years of age.
Genesis 2:29. And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food;" and it was so. (NOTE: There were no carnivorous creatures in the original creation. Everything ate plants. Darwin said that no just God could create the law of fang and claw. But this was not God's original intention or creation. It occurred after the fall of man to bring man back to Him. Remember in the millennium per Isaiah 11:7 And the lion shall eat straw like an ox.) Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Is there a double blessing on this day too? America following Great Britain? Or more likely is the final "indeed it was very good:" a reference to all 6 days collectively? I suspect the latter.
2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
Of course, God did not need to rest, but He needed to set up His model for the ages to come.
Does the above verse refer to Christ's millennium of Revelation 20 and God's rest for His people in Hebrews 3 and 4? I believe it does!
